Happy Pride Month to all my fellow LGBTQIA+!!! This month long series will focus on creators, except for the last post in this series which will focus on those that founded the Gay Rights Movement and why we have Pride Month.
Since yesterday was the start of Pride Month, I want to focus on my fellow LGBTQIA+ authors and creators.
This month we honor the men, women, transgender, non-binary, and all those other people in the community that created some peace and sanity in this world.
As writers, we bring the world into focus, telling our stories across genres, time and space.
Allow me to introduce you to some of these great authors and creators.
Meet Helen Lismore Cooke a poet from the United Kingdom 🇬🇧🏴.
“I grew up in Newcastle and went on to study English with Creative Writing at Hull University, which I absolutely loved. I taught English in secondary schools for 10 years, but now I work at a university in London and focus on my writing in my spare time. I live in South London with my wife and our three cats. I still visit Newcastle as often as I can!”
Cooke has two books of poetry available for purchase.
“My favourite of the collection is ‘Wild Roses.’ Set in 1835, a family arrive in a sleepy town in the middle of the night. The villagers are fascinated by these newcomers but it soon becomes apparent that they are not as proper as they seem and some villagers start to wonder what they were running from in the first place.” Cooke says.
These books are available on Amazon.co.uk.
Meet Cat Anders.
Cat Anders currently lives in north-east Tennessee in the Appalachians, with her family having originally been born and raised in the Highlands of Scotland. Her love to write and spin tales, comes second to her sarcastic wit and mischievous but loving nature.
Having started writing at an early age, after being inspired with several authors during her childhood, and still a very avid reader herself. Especially if she is reading to others, where she even mimics characters and does ‘voices’.
Educated in a variety of fields, plus her traveling of the world, has only helped to enrich the tales she weaves and colorfully makes the characters, that little more believable.
This series author has other books available from various retailers (links below).
